Funeral Home vs. Funeral Parlour in Singapore
Families often ask: What’s the difference between a funeral home and a funeral parlour? Knowing this distinction helps when choosing the right option during a sensitive time.
Funeral Home
A funeral home is a comprehensive service provider that manages every aspect of funeral arrangements. This includes collection of the deceased, preparation for viewing, handling permits and documentation, coordinating burial or cremation, and conducting the ceremonies. Funeral homes are designed to ease the burden on families by offering end-to-end support.
Funeral Parlour
In Singapore, a funeral parlour refers to a dedicated venue for holding wake services. These halls are equipped with facilities such as air-conditioning, rest areas, and amenities for visitors. However, a parlour does not usually provide the full suite of funeral services on its own. Arrangements are made through a funeral provider, who manages the process on behalf of the family.
When to Choose Each
Opt for a funeral home when you need complete assistance with logistics, permits, and coordination of ceremonies.
Choose a funeral parlour when you already have a provider and simply require a suitable venue for hosting the wake.
At Memorial Funeral Group, families benefit from both. Our facility functions as a funeral home with full-service support while also offering modern, comfortable funeral parlour halls for wakes.

The funeral parlours at Memorial Funeral Group are designed for all bereaved families to say goodbye to their loved ones.
How much does it usually cost to use a funeral parlour?

What are the benefits of engaging a funeral parlour?
Funeral parlours at Memorial Funeral Group offer families complete privacy, ensuring that only those they inform will know where the funeral wake for their loved one is held.
Our air-conditioned funeral parlours provide a comfortable environment for both families and visitors. We also offer additional amenities, such as private rooms with showers, bedrooms, and toilets, allowing families to focus on honoring their loved ones in comfort.
With our fully sheltered spaces, families need not worry about weather conditions. Whether it’s rain or heat, their guests remain comfortable. The building is also designed with barrier-free access, making it easy for the elderly and wheelchair-bound visitors to pay their respects.
What sets Memorial Funeral Group apart from other funeral parlours?
